
Mr. Berry has been the President of Covenant Aviation Security since October of 2002 and is responsible for the overall direction of the company. He has developed a strategic plan for enhancing CAS' status with San Francisco International, Tupelo and Sioux Falls airports while positioning CAS for growth. He has worked diligently with numerous Federal Security Directors, TSA headquarters and Congressional leaders. Mr. Berry has been a guest speaker at numerous ACI-NA and AAAE conferences regarding TSA's Privatization Program and the planned Screener Partnership Program. He has represented Covenant before the House Sub-Committee on Aviation. Prior to Covenant he spent several months with the TSA assisting with the transition of screeners at numerous airports to a federal workforce. He also worked as TSA's White House liaison representative.
Before joining Covenant, Mr. Berry was the President of StarMedia, a multimedia training company. While with StarMedia he created a computer-based aircraft recognition program for the Department of Defense. He oversaw the successful development of training programs for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), The Boeing Company, Delta Airlines, CAE, American Airlines and the Department of Defense.
Mr. Berry had an extensive military career spending 25 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired in 1993 as a Colonel. In his last position, he was the Commanding Officer of a Marine Aircraft Group, overseeing 60 aircraft and 3,000 men to support fleet operations. One of his notable accomplishments was during the Vietnam War. On April 29-30, 1975, Mr. Berry flew a CH-46 helicopter non-stop for over 18 hours during the evacuation of Saigon. His mission culminated with the successful airlift of Ambassador Graham Martin out of Saigon signaling the end of the Vietnam War. During two tours in Vietnam, he was the recipient of three Distinguished Flying Crosses.
Mr. Berry earned a Master of Arts in International Relations from Salve Regina University and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He has taught International Relations at various colleges and is an accomplished public speaker. Mr. Berry has assisted with documentaries for ABC, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel and CBS.
He holds a Department of Defense “Secret” clearance.
