David Kervin
President, co-founder

Mr. Kervin is the president of Covenant Security International, LLC. (CSI), responsible for driving global strategic development.

A combat veteran of the US Marine Corps, Mr. Kervin served 12 years in a variety of Infantry and Counterintelligence billets. Prior to joining Covenant, he staffed and led high-risk international government operations and Fortune 100 security programs for 8 years.

Mr. Kervin has authored and delivered training programs for U.S. government agencies, allied nation personnel and private concerns. He’s also been a guest speaker at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (Harvard Defense and Security Initiative).

Mr. Kervin attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, where he studied political science.

Tom Buchino
Vice President,Training, co-founder

Mr. Buchino is responsible for global training programs.

Mr. Buchino is a retired 23-year combat veteran of the U.S. Army. He served 17 years as a Special Forces operator in the U.S. Army Special Forces regiment. Prior to Covenant, Mr. Buchino served as the director of high threat training for an internationally recognized defense services company. He was responsible for comprehensive training programs for U.S. Department of State high threat protection details as well as the contracted pre-deployment training for U.S. Special Operations units.

Mr. Buchino has a Bachelor of Science from Liberty University.

Curt Smith
Vice President, Business Administration, co-founder

Mr. Smith is responsible for all aspects of back-office and business process.

Mr. Smith is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with over 20 years service where he held senior positions in financial management, fund/ industrial accounting, and logistics/sustainment planning and execution. Prior to Covenant, Mr. Smith served in various management positions within industry and government directly supporting all United States Armed Forces.

Mr. Smith was recognized by the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) for his efforts to introduce best business practices as a financial management officer in the Marine Corps.

Mr. Smith holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Averett University and a Bachelors of Science/Finance from Chapman University.

Stephen (Steve) L. Simmons
Managing Director, West Africa

In his current position, Mr. Simmons is responsible for the management and quality control of all activities in West Africa leading our team of regional subject matter experts there.

Mr. Simmons’ career spans over 30 years and includes law enforcement, investigative, security leadership and operations management in both the corporate and government sectors. Prior to Covenant, Mr. Simmons held positions with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Mobil Corporation and ExxonMobil, where he retired as the Manager of all African security operations.

Mr. Simmons holds a bachelor’s of Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.

Angela Williams-Tasky
Managing Director
Critical Infrastructure Protection
Covenant Security International, LLC.

Ms. Williams-Tasky is responsible for leadership and strategic direction as the Managing Director of CSI’s Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) division.

Ms. Williams-Tasky has extensive technical and implementation experience in security, regulatory compliance, and criminal justice within corporate, government, and industrial environments.  Prior to joining CSI, Ms. Williams-Tasky provided pre-decision analysis and guidance to senior officials in both the Chemical Security Compliance Division (responsible for the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards, CFATS) and the Protective Security Advisor Program within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) during the initial stand-up and operational implementation phases.  Prior to this assignment, Ms. Williams-Tasky served as both a sworn Police Officer and Investigator for the University of Nevada Reno before being selected as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service.  She has also managed large and complex projects for a variety of venues representing Fortune 500 businesses and major event facilities.

Ms. Williams-Tasky holds a BA in Criminal Justice and is currently completing a Masters in Business Administration. She is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and is board certified in security management as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP).

Joe Trindal
Director

Mr. Joe Trindal is responsible for operations and quality assurance as the Director of CSI’s Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) division.

Prior to Covenant Security, Mr. Trindal was the Special Agent in Charge of the Inspections & Enforcement Branch, Infrastructure Security Compliance Division, Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  As the Branch Chief, he was instrumental in standing up the Office of Infrastructure Protection’s Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulatory regime.  With the creation of DHS, Mr. Trindal served as the National Capital Region Director for the Federal Protective Service commanding a law enforcement/protective security organization of nearly 400 full time employees and 5,700 contract security guards responsible for protecting nearly 750 federal facilities and about 300,000 federal employees and contractors.

For 20 years, Mr. Trindal served with distinction in the U.S. Marshals Service attaining the positions of Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal and Incident Commander for the Emergency Response Team.  Mr. Trindal has led a number of high profile protective and fugitive operations as well as serving as federal law enforcement liaison to USAF Strategic Air Command for nuclear weapons security.

Mr. Trindal holds undergraduate degrees in Police Science and Criminal Justice as well as nearing completion of master’s degree requirements in Public Administration.  Mr. Trindal is also a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Michael Shanklin
Director of Development
Africa and Middle East

Mr Shanklin is responsible for the development of customer relationships, regional business initiatives and the provision of niche consulting expertise for CSI clientele.

With over 30+ years of security and counter-terrorism experience, Mr. Shanklin is recognized as one of the world’s foremost experts on threat assessment and crisis management.  Mr. Shanklin served over a decade with the Central Intelligence Agency, where he managed large and complex projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and advised senior members of the state and defense departments, in addition to multiple intelligence agencies. Prior to his CIA service, he retired honorably from the US Marine Corps where he served in both the enlisted and commissioned officer ranks, with 21 years of service in the counterintelligence field.

His exceptional service was recognized with the agency’s second highest award, The Intelligence Star Medal of Valor.  Since 1995, Mr. Shanklin has consulted on a wide range of projects for Fortune 250 companies with a focus on planning, threat assessment and crisis response.

Mr. Shanklin is a graduate of Chapman College with a B.S. in Political Science

Frank Rossi
Director of Training

Mr. Rossi is responsible for all operations and tactical supervision of training programs.

Mr. Rossi is a retired 21-year combat veteran of the U.S. Army. He served 14 of those as a Special Forces operator in the U.S. Army Special Forces regiment. Prior to joining Covenant, Mr. Rossi worked as a senior instructor on a joint tactical Human Intelligence (HUMINT) training program.

Mr. Rossi’s leadership experience ranges from serving as an advisor in Africa, Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (CJSOTF) Afghanistan Military Liaison Officer (MLO) for Advanced Special Operations (ASO) for Afghanistan.

Mr. Rossi attended Troy State University.
