Course: Executive Force Protection Level 1 (1-day)
Objective: firearms_training_range_course_texasDesigned for executives and other corporate personnel considering travel to medium risk areas without Personal Security Details (PSD). Our program is designed so the Covenant instructor will receive the individuals travel itinerary and other information prior to travel in order to develop a focused, tailored travel brief. The traveler will be fully briefed on the area they intend to visit and receive familiarization training to recognize and respond to the most common threats and hazards they might encounter during travel. This course can be delivered at our training center in Texas, our corporate offices in Reston Virginia, by video teleconference or by an instructor who travels to your location to deliver the brief and respond to specific questions.

The briefing will be researched and prepared by personnel who are US Military Force Protection Unit Advisor Level 2 trainers, supported by trained military intelligence analysts and personnel with recent first hand experience in the target country. The person delivering the briefing will be a trained and experienced Special Operations operator with combat experience in high risk areas, who is Survival, Evasion and Resistance to interrogation and Escape (SERE) qualified.

Our trainers who deliver the briefs travel routinely to high risk areas throughout the world and can provide you first hand accounts of encounters with criminals, terrorists, foreign intelligence agents, catastrophic weather events and dangerous animals and how they were able to survive the encounters and return home alive. This is the best first hand experience available to prepare you for your trip into hazardous locations.
Subject Areas Covered: This course is broken into five one hour blocks of instruction.

Session 1 - travel planning. This includes a briefing on the language, demographics, culture, customs and history of the locations visited to include gestures, looks, colors, words and phrases which might offend people in the area you will visit, as well as the correct things to do to ensure you receive a friendly reception. One of the most important things you can do to prepare for your visit is to learn something about the people you will visit. This is not simply a “National Geographic” brief you can pull from the web. This is derived from first hand experience by personnel who know the region and have interacted with the locals.

Session 2 - criminal and terrorist threats in the area. This is a focused briefing on the backgrounds, history, tactics, techniques and capabilities of the threat you may encounter during your visit. This includes films and news reports of actual attacks and detailed briefings on how the attack occurred and what could have been done to survive or avoid the attack.

Session 3 - environmental hazards. Every region has different hazards you should be aware of and be able to recognize. This block will cover dangerous insects, animals, reptiles, plants, diseases, weather and other natural hazards.

Session 4 - signature reduction and surveillance detection. This class will provide you with instruction in how static, foot and vehicular surveillance is conducted, how to recognize this type of surveillance and what to do when you spot it.

Session 5 - emergency procedures, survival mind-set. This one hour block of instruction covers what to do in the event the worst case situation happens. The instruction will cover what you can do to avoid capture if an attack occurs, how to survive the first few moments of capture if you are not successful in evading, and how to come back alive from a hostage situation.
Method: Classroom lecture. This instruction provided in this course is included in the Executive Force Protection Level 2 course taught at the Covenant Training Center in Texas and builds on these classes, allowing the student to put into action the skills learned in the class.
